Garnet Stores Hosted Joanna Guthrie

We had the absolute joy hosting Joanna Guthrie and the launch of her new book ‘Her Whereabouts’, a personal collection set round the theme grief.

At a time of crisis for the deteriorating body of Earth and for the stroke-stricken body of her own mother – two desperately precious, sustaining organisms – Joanna Guthrie uses her second collection to bear witness to the present and glance at the near future, in a body of poems which enact devout noticing as a form of activism.

The evening was full of laughter, praise, love and attentive silence. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and patiently spirited. In Jo’s words “it was a memorable place to do it. I'll definitely recommend you to others!”
