LOGO REWIND: Trademarks of Medieval Norwich is an evening that hosts Darren Leader, the man behind @merchantsmarks.norwich and Logo Redux, a project that inspired his recent research into Norwich’s Medieval Merchants marks. The evening will be hosted by Hope Brooks (co-owner of @thecardinalhand studio) alongside Darren will take us through his research, findings as well as interpretations of the medieval marks.

The Garnet hopes to invite people of Norwich to engage with Darren's work to further discuss Norwich's rich heritage on the evening of Tuesday 22nd November.

In connection with Norwich Heritage Open Days, we are hosting a talk with Jonathan Plunkett, the son of Norwich Photographer - George Plunkett. Since 2012, the Garnet has hosted a variety of George Plunkett's intimate work, particularly his portraiture. This exhibition was originally put together by the local artist and friend of the Garnet, Paul Bryan. This evening hopes to once again invite people to engage with Plunkett's work as well as discuss its rich heritage. The event will be hosted by Paul Bryan and, locally renowned, Jonty Young (@norwichnow) on the evening of Thursday 15th September.

What better location for a drawing workshop than our George Plunkett Room- overlooking the market and twinkly city centre. Hide away and take a moment with your sketchbook a large glass of something delicious while you join us for an alternative life drawing class with animals.

For artists, creatives and people that just love our animal pals. All abilities welcome. Materials are provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own.

Old Music, New Year: An evening of lively folk music with Joseph Reardon and Brown Horse

For a perfectly festive and snug night in (GARNET STYLE) come and get cosy with us this NYE and see 2020 in with a large glass of mulled wine and some wonderful acoustic music from the brilliant Joseph Reardon & Brown Horse.

Our chosen charity for any donations kindly made by customers on the night is Macmillan Cancer Support so dig as deep as you can and let's support a magnificent cause lots of us hold so dearly!

Richard and Linda Sheppard of Hallowed Histories will host the second M.R. James evening with The Ash Tree performed by Robert Lloyd Parry of Nunkie Productions.

This rendition of the classic ghost story for Christmas will be followed by a screening of the BBC Short The Stalls of Barchester which was filmed in Norwich Cathedral.

Drink Me Make Me are 'creative socials' which has been up and running for the last 3 years after spotting a need for grown ups to have time to indulge in creative play while having a drink! A super relaxed and fun evenings for all to enjoy.
